Enticed by a wide-open floor plan, a membrane research startup re-envisions a former flag factory as a first home for their expanded chemistry and prototyping labs.
Flooded with natural light and limitless potential, a former manufacturing building excited executives at Via Separations looking for a permanent home. Ebbrell Architecture + Design worked closely with the start up to create a thoughtful phased plan in rolling out the new headquarters, complete with a state-of-the-art wet lab that houses eight fume hoods – six benchtops and two walk-ins.
- Upgraded the infrastructure including new 480v electrical and larger gas service, and two new large rooftop HVAC units to accommodate 40 air changes per hour in the 1,500-sf wet lab.
- Collaborated closely with client representatives, owner’s project manager, engineering team and general contractor on identifying cost saving opportunities while maintaining focus on delivering a high-quality, high-functioning lab and support spaces.
- Developed a project phasing plan with future plans and infrastructure now in place for a full build-out, including a modern 30-person office space, updated restrooms, a future prototyping lab, and a multi-functional community room/break area.
