K-4 after school program moves on up into a loft space in an old mill building, to make room for Littleborough below.
Kidsborough, a privately owned before and after school program for K-4 students based in Hopkinton, previously occupied two floors at 34 Hayden Rowe. When they decided to expand their offerings to include newly launched daycare and preschool Littleborough, the owners looked to EAD to help fit out the new 3rd floor loft space for the after school program. Built out by Votze Butler Associates, and engineered by RMF, the team worked closely to create a light, bright open space that is both playful and functional.
- Designed open play area, quiet study, new pantry, storage, and bathrooms in 3rd floor loft space to support the before and after school program.
- Used brand colors and worked with Ember Creative to designate areas for branding/murals, complementing the character of the existing loft space.
- Designed custom millwork “house” seating niches with acoustic panels and “borough” chalkboard murals to be a focus/anchor of the open play space.
- Coordinated furniture, equipment and finishes throughout.
- Refinished existing egress stair with new rubber flooring, painted murals/graphics and custom light fixtures to add branding and playfulness to the entry sequence.
