A building repositioning that starts at the sidewalk and carries through the lobby and common areas adds value and attracts tenants to a downtown office building.
When the owner of a newly acquired downtown office building approached Ebbrell Architecture +Design to breathe new life into a dated structure, the transformation was remarkable. And the desired result – to attract and retain tenants – was accomplished through a targeted design that maximized lobby areas and re-energized the building’s street presence.
- Rebranded the building’s street presence by replacing the storefront at grade level, specifying contemporary signage, updating exterior lighting and door hardware, and a more modern exterior paint color palette.
- Designed a new building reception to attract tenants and visitors into the building, and to provide better visual coverage for security personnel.
- Reduced the footprint of the lobby-facing convenience store to optimize space-usage of the shop while opening up the lobby by capturing previously underutilized space.
- Defined transition areas for phone calls and casual conversation using soft materials and lighting strategies.
