A local business takes root in Natick Center

Bloom & Grow Creative looked to Ebbrell Architecture + Design to help them design their first play space in Natick Center. Born out of the pandemic, small business owners and entrepreneurs created a business selling craft kits and curated play dough jars, supplemented by drop-in crafting events at a local co-op. When the opportunity for a proprietary location came up, Bloom & Grow Creative jumped on it. Their vision for a creative play space with facilities for beading, crafting, sensory play, imaginary play and even a slime bar was able to come to fruition by careful programming and planning. The project is a whimsical, inviting space where kids can be kids and parents can relax knowing that their kids are safe and having fun. The design and finishing touches were truly a local collaboration, with handyman work by Paul Boyd, wall art by The Letter Hutch, and even custom counters made by one of the owner’s dads. It’s evident that Bloom & Grow Creative’s brick-and-mortar location in Natick Center will be a place where creativity flourishes, imaginations run wild, and memories are made.

  • The space plan is designed with visual access to kids in mind – low walls allow parents to have a coffee and watch their kids play or craft without hovering
  • Lighting was mostly existing but decorative pendants were added to take advantage of the high ceilings and allow for better lighting of evening events
  • Worked with landlord and local contractor to ensure the project met the needs of the business while also meeting a tight schedule and budget
