A joyfully crafted environment for children and the caregivers who support them

The Nook’s new 3,900 SF Salisbury home transforms a former karate dojo into a bright, welcoming destination for play, learning, and community. Designed with both children and caregivers in mind, the space balances open, energetic zones with quieter moments of support and care. From a multi-level play area to a cheerful party room and integrated parent amenities, the environment is tailored to foster imagination, movement, and connection.

  • Transformed a dim karate dojo into a bright, boutique children’s play space.
  • Organized the program to include a gross-motor area for young children, imaginative play zones, a party room, and dedicated spaces for nursing and changing.
  • Integrated welcoming reception and snack areas alongside rentable offices for child-focused professionals, supporting a broader community of care.
  • Leveraged existing conditions, strategic material selections, and close contractor coordination to deliver a refined design aligned with budget and schedule.
